First Snow Innocence

winter
crisp air
snow fall
silent with white
muffled violence of the world
we forget
we let go
and stare at the sky
we smile
with childlike innocence
act like its the first time
warmth fills us
hope flows forth
time stops
no sound
and for just a moment
we are all calm
before the clock ticks
and we all forget
and go back to the life
of a hectic mess
while envying children
who continue to play
in the snow fall
the crisp air
